Anyone know some good relatively cheap software to communicate with Fanuc or Mazatrol controls. All I want to do is read and punch programs instead of keying in at controls.

Thanks

RE: Cnc Communication

You might be able to do it through wordpad.  We use that on our Fadal VMC, and it works great, saves a lot of time if you don't have CAM software.

I know I can write prorams with wordpad or notepad which is what I use alot.  But how do I send or recieve the program.
I was hoping t use a RS 232 connection.

RE: Cnc Communication

I have had success with Predator DNC software in the past, not sure how much $$$ it is now, probably not too bad.  They offer many packages depending on your needs, send them a request for info, it can't hurt.

Predator Software Free trial available.

Couple others:

aggsoft I never heard of this one before but they offer a free version, as well as an advanced version.

ConnectCNC This one is only $50 and has free trial.

RE: Cnc Communication

Get a copy of ProComm its free, been around for 20 years

Regards

RE: Cnc Communication

any computer now today comes with something called hyperterminal it will comunicate with fanuc controls of any series.  works just like procomm

RE: Cnc Communication

go to programs, accessories, communications and you will see hyperterminal.  If you need set up info for fanuc let me know. Basically you just have to set up the baud rate and comm's just like anything you would use rs232 to do on fanuc.
