binding some parts of a sub-assembly

binding some parts of a sub-assembly

binding some parts of a sub-assembly

(OP)
I am trying to bind 7 parts in a 12 part sub-assemby is there a way to bind only part of a sub-assembly while leaving the rest with the ability to be exploded or should I just do this by manually exploding all the parts?

Thank you

RE: binding some parts of a sub-assembly

I don't think that solid edge will allow you to bind only certain part of an assembly but I never tried it so I'm not sure.

RE: binding some parts of a sub-assembly

Not sure if this will provide the solution, but you could explode the required parts in the sub-assembly first, then bind the sub-assembly so that it can be exploded from the main assembly as a single unit.
