Thread Cutting

(OP)
After a long time away from thread cutting on lathes I was wondering if anyone knows any good websites that I can use to refresh my memory. Things like angle of the cross-slide, when to engage the lead screw and such. Thanks in advance.

RE: Thread Cutting

Actually You might find more information in the Machinery's Handbook. This is an excellent resource. Can be found at any book store online or offline. Just Google the name and youll get lots of hits. Or try this site  http://www.mmsonline.com/articles/010302.html

Good Luck

RE: Thread Cutting

Here is general article on threading.  You might want to buy the book and get refreshed on everything.

Look at the bottom of the page.

Single point threading on a lathe ?

if you are looking to do manual production threading, the use of a self-opening geometric head could be considered

good way to go
