NX Question

NX Question

NX Question

(OP)
If I have an odd shape part and I want to create a envelope of material around this part at it’s outer most extremities, I have tried wrap geometry and that doesn’t give me what I am looking for, is there any other ways

Thanks

RE: NX Question

Not too sure what you are trying to accomplish, but maybe you could extract some sheets from your part faces,
and then just thicken the sheets you need. It would be under insert:form feature:extract. Hope this helps a little

RE: NX Question

If you want to know the bounding box that your part fits in look here:
Thread561-94916

Even if it is not exactly what you want, it is a good place to start. The more specific you can be, the more helpful we can be.

RE: NX Question

Well just imagine a carborator kick on some weird angles out in space, and I am looking down on it, on the xy plane and just want to put a box around it for a material size to manufacture this part

I hope I made more since this time

Thanks for you help

Spoke to soon Cowski went to this link and didn’t find anything downloadable, but then again it’s probably my lack of experience

RE: NX Question

Sorry, my fault.

You can download the grip library from the link given above. You might already have the library, if there is someone who manages UG stuff where you work you might want to ask them first.

The previous link was just for descriptions of what is in the library.

RE: NX Question

(OP)
thanks, i'll give that a shot.
