EDrawings to Solidworks file?

EDrawings to Solidworks file?

RE: EDrawings to Solidworks file?

You can not create a part from the eDrawing. You can measure it, then create new from the dims.

RE: EDrawings to Solidworks file?

If they allowed STL export when they created it, you could save-as .stl and open that in SWx.

Otherwise, contact the company and ask nicely for the file?

RE: EDrawings to Solidworks file?

From an .eprt, yes, but not from an .edrw

RE: EDrawings to Solidworks file?

In that case, you're stuck with my "Otherwise" mentioned above.

RE: EDrawings to Solidworks file?

Can you open STL parts in SW?  If so, do you get anything useful, or just a bunch of triangle surfaces?

RE: EDrawings to Solidworks file?

Yes you can.  I've not had any problems with it as of yet.  The only draw back I see in opening this file type is that you are unable to use feature recongnize and also not able to measure the solid part with tools>measure.  You however can use the model to implement into an assembly and etc.

RE: EDrawings to Solidworks file?

You can open them, but check the options when you do.  Make sure to bring it in a bodies or surfaces in order to do anything at all.

And yes, it will be a bunch of triangle surfaces . . .

RE: EDrawings to Solidworks file?

That should have been AS bodies or surfaces
