I am in need of  advice and  tips on a straight foreward process for alignment of  Carden Shaft on a V drive set-up.
  Man 2848LE401 to Twin disc  MG5114RV.  I have limited  access to making "pointers" to fit

RE: Simple Carden Shaft alignment

1. Get everything in the same vertical plane.

2. Adjust so that the u-joint deflection angles are always equal.

For (1), you need straightedges, squares, and a good level.

For (2), you need the protractor head and a short blade of a machinists' combination square set.  Buy a cheap one so you can cut it up as necessary for clearance.
