hi,

 we are planning to have a centralized monitoring of our machines. it is compose mainly of a siemens 632 HMI's.

we found out, a 632 HMI's is connected to a repeater - will be used as a dropline and a profibus dp as a trunkline connected to our main PC.

my question:
1. ] does seimens product manual will provide some programming samples to configure the networking? if not,
2. ] can anybody willing to help me this plan that i had, such as programming and network configuration?
3. } does anyone had done this networking? hows the system in the long run?

You should be able to find the basic information that you need on the tech doc's associated with your HMI package and the Profibus card on the PC. I know that the PC's card does contain SST utilities for network troubleshooting.

We use Profibus in almost all of our control networks.
