Problems with Swept with Orientation Face Normals

Problems with Swept with Orientation Face Normals

(OP)
Hi,

I am trying to create a swept with one guide and one string along a curve on a surface that is bend - the swept is supposed to be on the inside of the bend surface and the orientation should be face normals  . The string is just a line perp. to the curve and the face.

The result I get after the swept is really bad - the sheet is not smooth at all. But I did everything as suggested in the help.

Anybody expierience the same problem ? Iam trying this on NX 2.

Thanks for any advice on this.

Seb

RE: Problems with Swept with Orientation Face Normals

You may have to offset your guide curve so that there are two guide curves, to tie it down the other end of your line.

Where should I offset it to ? Will the swept still be with orientation " face normals " ? This is really important.

Thanks,

Seb

Seb,
Not enough info provided to be sure of what you're trying to do, but look at the 'Extension' command under free form feature palette. Sounds like this may help you achieve desired results rather than swept command.

Hi Rod,

somehow your post slipt on me earlier this year, but found it now again - tried it and it worked perfect.

Thanks,

Sebastian
