DC motor reviews

(OP)
I work for an OEM. We build machines that use DC motors. Typically 300 hp 650/1950 rpm. We generally use GE motors. Interested in looking at other motor manufactures ie Baldor, Marathon??

How does the quality and $$ of these manufactures compare to GE?

RE: DC motor reviews

The prices are lower as compared to GE. You should make a detail analisys of your load requirements to match the motor that will match your load requirements. The construction is kind of light (in my personal opinion) but they will work if properly applied. The construction meets the NEMA MG1 standard.

RE: DC motor reviews

in terms of QUALITY i preferred G.E, its technical services and support is  well verse and supportive.

but in terms of $$, i may say competitive...

in all cases, you are still the one to decide which of which!
as long as it comply your requirements and of course the cost!

RE: DC motor reviews

You should add Reliance and ABB to your list.  Both have been quality suppliers for many years and have a good support network in place.
