Custom balloons

Custom balloons

Custom balloons

(OP)
I create a  Custom balloon. As in..I create a balloon then change the properties from Item Number to Custom and type in the number i want that particular balloon to be. I do this be cause i also manually add line items in the BOM that the balloons will reference.

Question:
Is it possible to link the custom balloons i create to the manual line items i create in a BOM so that if that manually created line item changes, for example from item #4 to item #10, the custom balloon # will also change from #4 to #10?

Also my BOM seems to totally reorganize if i replace a component. Is it possible to keep this from happening?

TIA

Adam

RE: Custom balloons

1) Instead of manually adding "line items" in the BOM, place dummy or empty (no graphics) parts in the assy. The BOM will then automatically import the properties applied to those parts and you will not need to customize the ballons. Also you will not lose the manual changes when you update or rebuild the BOM.

2) RMB on the BOM & select Follow Assembly Order to keep item numbers matching the assembly.
