Solidworks, Orcad, Pro-E Help ?
(OP)
Does anybody have the same problem I'm having, I have to use intralink to manage my pro-e files. We use pdmworks to manage our solidworks, powerpcb files, and autocad stuff. Has anybody tried to mess with pro-engineer files yet?
I've been at my company since the early eighties and we used AutoCAD to design pcb boards and for mechanical designs, we switched to orcad later. Then pro-engineer released pt modeler in the early ninties so we jumped on the ptc wagon. Now we use both design operating systems, pro-e and sw. If it was my decision pro-e would be gone but it not up to me.
If anybody can give me some advice, or should find my answer at the bottom of a jack daniels bottle ?

I use intralink to check-out items, bump revs and sometimes copy files, I know PDM does the same stuff as intralink. I just wanted to know if there's anybody out there in the same boat as me, has anybody tried controlling pro-e files, or is up to me to tell everybody here what happens. All my engineer buddies tell me I'm up the creek without a paddle, if you know what I mean.

Set Industry to "PDM/ERP Software"
Then go through the list and find the packages that will also work with PTC. (especially the SWx "Gold Partners")
Take your list and start the compare/contrast process and get demos of the ones you narrow down to.

And you are welcome 2000mustanggtguy. I hope it will answer alot of your key questions. The best thing is you can have one license with multiple users. The number of licenses dictates how many users can access the system at one time.
