Silver solder
Silver solder
(OP)
Dear group,
Does anyone have any idea as to the mechanical properties (Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio) of the silver brazing alloy AG14 (other designations M25T BS 1545:1984) or anywhere close to this chemistry. I have looked high and low for these and cannot find them anywhere. Any approx figures appreciated.
Cheers,

RE: Silver solder
But maybe you have a condition that actually requires understanding the contribution of the braze stiffness or maybe you are trying to work the braze alloy?
RE: Silver solder
AG-14 is Johnson & Matthey’s designation for what the American Welding Society calls BAG-24.
I have the ANSI/AWS A5.8-92 Specification For Filler Metals And Braze Welding and it doesn’t have any of this information.

This is a sales arm of Handy & Harman. These guys are really good.
The problem is that the properties of braze alloy in a joint are so dependent on how the alloy is used. We have information about this on our web site at ht
