Claus unit electric re-heaters

Claus unit electric re-heaters

Claus unit electric re-heaters

(OP)
Hi all

Doing some work for existing Claus Unit. Problems with catalyst powder are breaking electric resistances on reheaters (yes, they are electric) and clog liquid sulfur down valves on condensers.

Due to resistance breaking, temperature is to low on catalytic reactor and reaction does not occur in the pretended way.

Client thinks that re-heaters on vertical position will solve the problem, but I would like to know if there are other options considering powder elimination.

Have looked for troubleshooting on claus unit, but it doesn´t seem a problem to all of them...

Help anyone?
