Design Tables

When you have a design table open in a seperate window would it be possible to rename one of columns or just add some sort of remark letting the whole world that this column dimension is Dim A, this column is Dim H and etc.

RE: Design Tables

Yup, you can do all that.  But you need to follow the rules.  Use the Help to find all that.  You'll love em once you get started.  Quick trick.  Name all the dimensions you want to have in the design table, then use the auto-create, you wouldn't believe how we used to have to do it!!  Ahh, the ole days.

RE: Design Tables

no problem, Design tables will grow on you...then you'll go someplace else and they say "design table? what's that"  I find it amazing how little it's used in certain places.  Let's start a revolution!!!

RE: Design Tables

You can do lots of Auotmation with a Design table. Take some Excel classes. I took level 3 excel and VBA programming. It well worth my time to take those courses. Some of the results of DT and Excel.

RE: Design Tables

I have automated our Drawing templates to work with a DLL (VBA)
I am currently working on a customized Revision Block Version 2.0 the first version worked exactly how our old title blocks worked and was fully automated using my customized form.

Second version will use the solidworks built in rev table but will only be used as a hidden data base within the drawing.
The data needed off the table will be displayed elswhere on the title block itself. I am looking for VB Code samples on retrieving and setting the Rev Table data using my customized form.  Can anyone help me?
