Authorized Inspector For Pressure Vessels

(OP)
I would like to locate an AI that is highly familiar with section VIII code, and the relevant calculations.

In particular modification of pressure vessel shell openings. I am increasing the diameter from 14"  to 20" on one of the openings- what should I consider?

I have  done some preliminary calculations using UG-37 through UG 43 of ASME Section VIII, but would like to have the calculations validated by an AI. This is my first time doing this type of calculation, so I would like to have it reviewed.

Where are you located?

RE: Authorized Inspector For Pressure Vessels

If you have an insurance carrier the first order of business is to contact them.  Each insurance company has it's own AI to cover their interest by verifying the design and proper execution of same.
The insurance AI can offer guidance  into the process of notifying the local jurisdiction and verifying the credentials of the contractor.

RE: Authorized Inspector For Pressure Vessels

I may not be reading this right, but it sounds like you want the AI to "check" your calculations.  The AI will verify that you have calculations and that things are in order to meet ASME code requirements, but they aren't going to make sure you did the calculations right and obtained the correct answer.  It sounds to me like you need someone with ASME Section VIII Div I experience to review your calculations to make sure they are mathematically correct, and not necessarily a PE.  Definitely not an AI.

Good luck.
