XP Pro SP2 and Acad2000

(OP)
We just purchased new Dell Precision PWS670, Xeon 3 GHz, 2 Gig ram machines. We still have AutoCad2000. On the testbox (not the same comupter but close) we had, we had to change the compatibility to Win2000 to get it to install. On this box, that went fine but when I doubleclick on the icon to launch it, the splash screen comes up but it just sits there and chugs.

Am I missing something? Thanks if you can help in advance

RE: XP Pro SP2 and Acad2000

I usually do the installs logged in as cadadmin with admin rights. Is "powerUser" any different?

RE: XP Pro SP2 and Acad2000

For installs, admin is correct, but users need power user rights because of constant registry edits that AutoCAD makes.
