Servo Driven Rack & Pinion Application

(OP)
Hey all!...I have run into a problem, and I need some help.  I am currently designing a high speed gantry style robot, with movement in X,Y,Z.  I'm using Bosch MHD motors, Alpha gearheads, with Alpha's new rack and pinion system.  I'm using an Aluminum carriage with THK rails, and my problem is that once I placed everything where it needed to be, including cable tracking, I am having a hard time trying to MOUNT the gearheads/motors to the carriage, and I have serious space constraints that basically means I can not use a subplate to mount to.  Can I simply bolt the gearhead/motor directly to the aluminum carriage plate, with slots for adjustmment? Can I mount the gearhead/motor rigidly with no adjustment? I need some ideas, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
