Fusing Problem
Fusing Problem
(OP)
I have 24.9/14.4 Kv utility supply from Hydro One to our new water treatment plant.
Our main transformer is 750 KVA delta/wye.
One of the transformer suppliers keeps calling me about fusing problem from utility(wye connection) to primary side of transformer(delta connection).
Any Ideas about this concern?
Regards

And secondly, I am wondering if it is better to specify a Wye/Wye Transformer as oppose to Delta/Wye.(for instance what we should do with neutral wire of Hydro connection?)
So far as I remember, I always saw Delta/Wye Transformers in industrial applications I have been involved with, although I confess I am not Power specialist.

RE: Fusing Problem
You do not say what the fusing problem is.
Wye/wye is not generally recommended, because the utility can see a single-phase fault on your side. Harmonics are also a problem. I would think wye/delta, with impedance-grounded wye (fault current limitation) on your side and delta on the utility side, but the utility has a way of doing things that they will be glad to tell you.
