Specific Sliding - Internal gear
Specific Sliding - Internal gear
(OP)
I am looking for specific sliding calculation formulations for external pinion meshed with an internal gear. First when the pinion is the driver and second when the internal gear is the driver.
Any information regarding a book/artice that has the formulation and theory for this case willl be much appreciated.
For external pinion meshed with another external gear I have found the info in KHIRALLA's book. However, for external gear pinion meshed with an internal gear I could not find any detailed information.

RE: Specific Sliding - Internal gear
you can find the formulae in DIN standard (I believe it is DIN 3960) and also in some publications, one of them is the MAAG company's gear handbook (Swiss company, I saw that booklet in German and in English; The same applies to the DIN standard).
The DIN uses the same formula for both external and internal gear pair. There is the value "u" in the formula. "u" is the no. of teeth ratio, always the larger divided by the smaller, therefore u>1
For internal gear pair the "u" value is taken negative and used in the same formula.
FYI: Din is using certain data (no. of teeth, pitch dia...) of internal gear as a negative value. That way there are not separate formulae (or formulas?) needed for int/ext gear calculation.

Thanks, I do not have the DIN by I can get Maag book.
