Stainless seem required - material needed

(OP)
Hello,

I have to sheet the walls of a kitchen. It is a large area, therefore I will need to hide the seems. I have seen a beed type of joiner made from stainless - Can anyone tell me where to get some?

Regards,

Morgan from Ireland.

RE: Stainless seem required - material needed

Normally after welding if the seams must be hidden they can be ground and polished. Material should be weldable, type 304L or 321.

RE: Stainless seem required - material needed

I would doubt that welding, Grinding and polishing the entire walls of a kitchen would be practical.

We are doing a project now that requires 22ga 4b finish stainless on the walls behind the kitchen exhaust hood. One side of a corner wall about 4 1/2 feet and the back wall 18 feet from floor to behind the hood @ 6 ft 6in above the floor. We will hem the exposed edges on each end of the covering and make an offset lap seam where the sheets come together. Also the corner will be a 90 deg. break in the sheet. They will be bonded with adhesive to the 1hr fire rated sheetrock wall simular to the FRP panels except that we will add stainless steel screws through the panels and into wall studs above the bottom of the hood and close to the floor where they will be conceled behind the cove base in the room. There will be a very small seam visible at the laps but they will be running with the grain of the polish.

Good Luck

You can buy stainless panels with a built in lock seam edge. It is usually found under architectural materials.

I'll try to find someone who produces it, my first two tries hit a blank they are gone.
