Slab on Grade Design

Slab on Grade Design

Slab on Grade Design

(OP)
I am looking for literature regarding concrete slab design, in particular- slabs on grade & thin floating slabs. I would like to use this literature to check analysis programs. Thank You, Pat.

RE: Slab on Grade Design

The Australian Standard AS2870 "Residential Slabs and Footings" gives guidance on the design of slabs on ground by Engineering principles. In particular taking into account load conditions such as edge heave and centre heave due to expansive clays and serviceability requirements. It also gives guidance and references on appropriate analysis techniques in modelling slab/beams on elastic foundations. You can buy the whole standard on the web via www.standards.com.au

RE: Slab on Grade Design

"Designing Floor Slabs on Grade" by Boyd C. Ringo & Robert B. Anderson, 1996.

This is a very pragmatic text which includes various methods (WRI, PCA, etc.)

I think we bought it through ACI or PCA.

RE: Slab on Grade Design

PCA (portcement.org) has some very good design manuals.
