Adjustable product nest for pick & place

Adjustable product nest for pick & place

(OP)
I need to locate metal discs in a nest for a p&p machine.
They range in Dia from 2.5" to 10" and are 24 thou thick.
The nest has to be adjustable to take all sizes (about 8
in all). I need about 2 thou clearance per side so they can be picked.I'm after something like a 4 jaw chuck that is lockable with no or very little backlash.

RE: Adjustable product nest for pick & place

You could make a thick bottom disc for each size that is .004" over and clamp it in a standard four jaw chuck.

Thanks for the response Barry. I did have that in mind, in fact I'm looking at a "Atlas workholding super thin chuck, series MCA". I would unscrew the jaws,
make my own location pins and screw them in postion. The only problem being that the coustomer migt not like having a number of discs sitting in the machine. Still if nothing better turns up thats the way it will have to be.
Thanks again.
