Basics on water resources and distribution

(OP)
What is a good textbook or other resource that describes the basics and terminology of water distribution?  Is there something that describes everything from "freshwater canals" to "water plants" to "elevated storage tanks" all the way down to service lines feeding buildings?  I'm looking more for concepts and terminology rather than the science behind it (although that would help too).

"Water Supply and Pollution Control"  Clark, Viessman and Hammer
