flow meter and pipe size
flow meter and pipe size
(OP)
Plaese help, I recently purchased a dwyer flow meter and they dont give info on which size piping to use in relation to the inlet and outlet. The only advice is dont have it too large or too small. The meter is a tube type with a max flow of 6 lt/min and the fittings are 1/4 npt female. I am currently using 1/4 npt to 1/2 pipe male fittings and am having a little trouble. Thanks in advence for feed back.

Many of the flow meters they offer are variable area types and if this is what you have, pipe size isn't a problem, more important is that the meter is arranged vertically.
If it is a "turbine" type, I couldn't say as they don't specify if it is an axial turbine (in which case inlet and outlet pipe dameter is important) or a pelton wheel type (in which case not).
