Tip to reduce file size and help performance.

Tip to reduce file size and help performance.

(OP)
Hey guys, ran across a tip to help reduce file size and increase performance recently.  I tested it and in some cases part file sizes shrank 10-50%.

In Tools, Options, Systems Options, General there is an option to "save e-drawings data in file". Well apparently at one point e-drawings could not read native SW data so it stored it in the file. Having this option on will result in an approximate increase of 10-30% on file size and also effect saves & rebuilds. In the future this option will be removed as now Edrawings no longer requires it to be check since it reads native SW file data.

Give 'er a try and see what changes ensue.

RE: Tip to reduce file size and help performance.

I'm not sure why that option is still there now.  eDrawings has been able to read native SWx files for a couple of releases.

Before any upgrade, I always go through all of the options (don't trust that the defaults will be optimal for your use!)

Does anyone out there have a use for this setting?
