CuNi Piping with Carbon Steel Valves
CuNi Piping with Carbon Steel Valves
(OP)
I am working on an application where 70/30 CuNi piping has been specified for JP5 delivery. The end user of the JP5 has carbon steel valves and connections that the CuNi piping has to mate up to. Are there any corrosion problems with the mating of these dissimilar metals and JP5?

What about the outside? If this is buried you may have a big problem.

You may want to make sure that the exterior of the valve has a high quality coating prior to instalation. Sea fog can eat the heck out exposed CS, especially when it is in contact with more noble alloys.

I think there will be a problem in this situation. In fact, I have a photograph from a shipcheck years ago of a similar mix on a large ship, and the steel parts are extremely corroded. I show this photo as an example of what not to do.
