import dwg into proE

(OP)
How do I import a dwg drawing into a plane of a proE.prt. This procedure is very simple in SolidWorks.

RE: import dwg into proE

In sketcher, Sketch>"Data from file" and select your DWG file. It will be inserted on the sketcher If there are too many entities, Wildfire 2 asks which entities you want.

RE: import dwg into proE

If you're using Pro/E 2001 pick Model Space and use the scale 1:1 unless it was drawing in another scale.  It will locate the dwg entities where they resided in the program that generated the file.....ie Pro/e locates the sketch relative to the origin.
