Protel 99SE and SPICE?

Protel 99SE and SPICE?

Protel 99SE and SPICE?

(OP)
I have been using the student version of Pspice for a long time and just recently imported an Linear Technologies LT6234 op amp model into the program.  Well.. the model itself violates the 64 node limit. So I can't use that anymore.

So, I invested more time in learning the Protel 99SE simulation features. I have the circuit built up with 741 op amps (an internal library part), and it is time to switch out the 741s and stick in the LT6234 model that I got from the Linear Tech website.

Protel seems to not be able to understand the spice circuit function calls made in the LT6234 model.  The Protel manual says it uses standard Spice syntax.  When I view the LT6234 model with a text editor, there is a reference to Spice2.

Protel gives an error message like..
"ERROR - unable to find definition of model spwrx:xu1a - default assumed"

With the above message, Protel is refering to this line in the op amp model file..
".MODEL SPWRX VSWITCH (ROFF=1G  RON=0.1 VON=-12V VOFF=12V)
"

Where can I go from here?  Can I fix the model so it works in Protel 99SE? Add in all the additional models?

Do I go out and buy a Spice package?  If so, what is the best and cheapest (it's my own money) Spice package out there now?

Thanks,
groundhog1
