Question:

I want to place a detail view on a different sheet than the Parent view. Is this possible. If so can someone point me in the right direction.

TIA,

Adam

RE: Detail Views

Ive have tried that. Didn't work. I've done it with views and it's worked before but never a detail view. I got a dialog box that said "Cannot copy this item from the clipboard".

I'll keep looking.

RE: Detail Views

Once created on a sheet you should be able to go to the feature manager and drag it to the sheet you want it on.

Heckler

Do you trust you intuition or go with the flow?

RE: Detail Views

In the Drawing View Manager you can simply "Drag & Drop" from one sheet to another. (SW2004)

Drag & Drop worked......thanks.

RE: Detail Views

I have SW2005.....dragging detail view from sheet 1 to sheet 2 does not work.

How do you do this in SW 2005?

(is the view locked or someting like that?)

thanks,
ken

RE: Detail Views

Ken1,

I just moved a detail view to sheet 2.  I don't think a locked view would have anything to do with a detailed view.

RE: Detail Views

ken1 ... Make sure the sheet you are moving the view from  is active and when you drop the view, drop it on or immediately below the sheet title  of the sheet you are moving it to. If you try to drop it on or below the Sheet format  line, it will not work.
