particle board screw standard???

particle board screw standard???

Anyone know of a published standard that covers particle board screws. These are similar to wood screws, but more aggressive thread and with washer integrated into the head.

Thanks.

RE: particle board screw standard???

I don’t know of any standard for particle board screws only different styles  from different suppliers.
At one time they were hefty bugle head screws similar to dry wall screw. The distinction has become blurred with everyone supplying screws.  There any number of suppliers of these fateners.

Here is the old model particle board screw.

Here are a list of washer head screws that will work well for particle board.

Thank you for the valuable information. I am seeing exactly what I suspected: That ANSI or any other standards organization does not publish a specification. I am attempting to do tolerance stack-up and optimization on wooden furniture assemblies, and need to know exact limits on the shoulder size of the screws we use. Looks like this information will prove difficult to get.
