Simple line text in sketch

Simple line text in sketch

Simple line text in sketch

(OP)
Hello, I'm trying to add text to a part as a sketch. The problem is I need simple, single line text. The text that shows is an outline text of each letter. I basically need centerline text for machining. It does not matter what text style I choose, the text is always in an outline form. Any help or ideas would be greatly apperciated.

Thanks

RE: Simple line text in sketch

I can only think of a manual way of doing this.

Start a new part.  Pick a simple sans-serif font.  Extrude a boss or cut using the text you need.  Select the new surface formed by that text and open a sketch.  Offset the edges necessary to get a "centerline" of your text (as based on your cutter thickness and text widths).  Do this for each letter.  Exit and copy the sketch.  Go to the part you need your sketch to be and paste the sketch where it needs to be--you now have a path for your text.
