TEG DEHYDRATION UNIT

TEG DEHYDRATION UNIT

TEG DEHYDRATION UNIT

(OP)
Hi friends, in my plant we have a 10 MMSCFD TEG gas dehydration unit. Few days ago someone told me that it`s a "good practice" to change all the T.glycol each 2 years.I told him that the unit has been operating 4 years, and we haven`t found any problem with it.
We obtain a good dehydration among 0.5 to 2 lbH2O/MMSCF.and only make-up the TEG when is required i.e
(TEG regeneration column little losses).

We keep the parameters stabilized( reboiler temperature, pH).
I would like to get your opinion.

REGARDS  !!!

If the glycol is fine you don't need to replace it.

Thank you Mr.Spooner

RE: TEG DEHYDRATION UNIT

Bottom line is if you are sampling regularly and there is no evidence of degradation then leave well alone.

RE: TEG DEHYDRATION UNIT

Does the GDU have particle and charcoal filters in it?  If so these will help keep the TEG in good condition.  Ensure that the particle filter is not fouling and follow manufacturers advice on the charcoal filter.  These will help prolong the life of the TEG (even further).
