Vautl Update from 2004

Vautl Update from 2004

Vautl Update from 2004

(OP)
WE recently tried to update our Vault from 2004 to 2005. Needless to say, something went wrong and we were not able to access the data in the 2005 client. We still have all of the 2004 data on the drive (we cannot see it but the files are there)

Has anyone encountere problems with the vault upgrade and do you have any suggestions?

Is there a way to access the files on disk in the Vault and import thm into a new 2005 vault?

RE: Vautl Update from 2004

I would call your VAR as soon as possible for help.

Can you read your files using SolidWorks 2004? If you cannot read the files in the vault using SolidWorks 2005, my suggestion would be to restore your files from your backups (Call your VAR 1st). Then update your vault one project at a time at a time when no one is using the PDM.

When we upgraded, we were told to backup the vault then uninstall 2004 first, then install 2005.

Found the problem -

SW did not migrate the Users. Simply copied the directory pdmrw form the previously copied database, repaired the installation of PDMServer. and Viola!
