Surface Preparation of Nickel Cobalt

Surface Preparation of Nickel Cobalt

Surface Preparation of Nickel Cobalt

(OP)
I have been conducting some research on the surface preparation of Nickel Cobalt alloys for adhesive bonding.  I am looking to try other surface preparation techniques aside from concentrated Nitric Acid.  If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.

Thanks,

vtmys

RE: Surface Preparation of Nickel Cobalt

Can you use an abrasive blast on the NiCo alloy.

What is the alloy?
This might help with an etchant.

What type adhesive are you using?

RE: Surface Preparation of Nickel Cobalt

vtmys:

I've never done this with NiCo alloy but you might try Sodium or Ammonium Bifluoride solution at about 140F.
