FEMA-350 BUEP plate thickness

FEMA-350 BUEP plate thickness

FEMA-350 BUEP plate thickness

(OP)
I'm calculating the thickness of a steel plate at the connection between a column and beam in a SMF which is classified as a Bolted Unstiffened End Plate (BUEP) connection.  On page 3-47 of FEMA-350 they give an equation for plate thickness.  In that equation I need to know "g".  It says "g = is the bolt gage as defined in Figure 3-14"  This doesn't make much since to me...I don't see any definition for "g" in fig. 3-14.

Can anyone help me?

thanks!!

RE: FEMA-350 BUEP plate thickness

Gage is the horizontal distance between the bolts.
