External Threading
External Threading
(OP)
Hi All,
I have looked at the Help file and a few of the forum readers websites but can still not find an Answer. So I hope I can not be called lazy after I ask this question?
Anyhow? Is there an external thread feature in Solidworks 2k5 01.1? Is it a 3D sketch feature or a Helix/Spiral base?
Regards,
M-J

RE: External Threading
You didn't look to hard?
A thread is made from a Helix and a profile that is then swept together. See example link above.
True Threads are not recommended because you will take a Perforamnce hit.
