What is Ground-Fault Testing? New to Forum

(OP)
I just recieved this task to finish up a Ground-Fault Test.  Currently working on a Light Rail track construction.  I do different corrosion test along the track such as Stray Current testing, Resistivity test.. etc

I need to do a Ground-Fault Test.. But I am not sure of what kind of grounding mechanism to use.

Thanks
TJ

RE: What is Ground-Fault Testing? New to Forum

In our testing electronics, a ground-fault test would be to apply a specified current over a period of time then measure resistance. In my experieince we run 150% of the device rated current though the main ground for 2-3X the breaker switch time. This is very useful in finding a poorly-attached ground connection.
