use of waste hydraulic oil

use of waste hydraulic oil

use of waste hydraulic oil

(OP)
i want to use waste hydraulic oil to heat a warehouse.has somebody done this ? also if possible to use this oil in a small burner to heat a greenhouse at home ! can a mod be made to existing oil/keresine burner/boiler . what temp does the hyd oil need to burn efficiently etc etc

RE: use of waste hydraulic oil

I would try to run the question by the oil supplier/manufacturer, first.  My concern is that the oil may have additives (or contaminants, ie, metals) where they simply don't recommend burning it, period, at least in a situation where emissions can't be easily monitored or controlled.

If you ever notice on a gas pump, the labels say "For use as a motor fuel only"- ie, they don't recommend using it in your Coleman lantern due to the additives in it.  Perhaps similar issues here.

RE: use of waste hydraulic oil

Generally I encounter the opposite question, They have waste oil and want to use it like hydraulic oil. Their first option is used motor-oil sigh...
