Upgrading from NX2 to NX3

Upgrading from NX2 to NX3

Upgrading from NX2 to NX3

(OP)
I asked this question a few weeks back in a Teamcenter context, but got no replies.  So I've reworded it to understand the experience outside of teamcenter:
We are currently running NX2, and will probably upgrade to NX3 sometime later this year.
However, I've seen a few comments on refiling parts when an NX upgrade is taken (as UG would do this on the fly anyway).  We are a fairly new customer to UG, but we are expecting to be generating large (20,000+ item) assemblies and geometrically complex components within them.    What experience is there when running ug_refile_part of regeneration failures, partfile checking and any other QA issues?  How long does the process take, and how much dedicated resource does it absorb?  We currently have over 100,000 parts with 600,000 drawings on our legacy database (not being translated) and we expect the use of UG will generate a larger database than this.
Any experience, good or bad, would be appreciated so we can take the leap forward with our eyes open.

Scotty -
Weigh your options heavily - refiling all parts could potentially cause issues, albeit not many but could still get you caught - no possible chance to backout of an upgrade etc...

I have refiled and I have left them alone, there is a pro & con to both. A s for Assembly size, we regularly use 20K - 60K size assemblies, not a real big issue if you learn how to really take advantage of the large assebmly best practices.

cadmgr, sending e-mails is a no-no (got me fingers rapped) so can you share in the forum your experiences, please?  Seems that one or 2 others could benefit too.
