Could anyone name a few mold flow analysis software. I know COSMOS does it. Also please suggest me some books through which I can get some introduction to mold flow analysis. Thanks.

RE: Mold Flow Analysis

There is a company called Moldflow that specialises in this subject.  See www.moldflow.com for more info.

Thanks Denial,
Do you know of any books or material that gives some information on mold flow analysis like the books for structural finite element analysis. Thanks again.

RE: Mold Flow Analysis

I've never worked in that area.  I know of the company only because I once knew a chap who worked for them.

There are 3 main mold flow software - Moldex3D, Moldflow and Sigmasoft. All offer similar capability in terms of filling, cooling and warpage analysis.

To understand the software you really need a good understanding of injection moulding. Moldflow run a site called the plastics zone (http://www.plasticszone.com/) which could probably point you in the direction of some good books.

Hope this helps!

RE: Mold Flow Analysis

I book I have used is Peter Kennedy's "Flow Analysis Of Injection Molds", ISBN 1569901813.  Hanser Gardner is the publisher.
