Translate Assembly from SE 15

Translate Assembly from SE 15

Translate Assembly from SE 15

(OP)
One of my customer tried to translate an assembly file from Solid Edge to igs,it doesn't translate into different parts or different levels when the igs converted into Cimatron. Is there any settings needed or change to other formats like stp.

Which is the best translator to get good surfaces without much data lost into igs format.

Any expert suggestions please.

RE: Translate Assembly from SE 15

First thing is find out what the destination system will import, and what 'tweaks' it can make when importing.
STEP is usually best for solids.
IGES is generally for surfaces.

RE: Translate Assembly from SE 15

The destination system accept only surfaces and wire frame.
The problem is when an assembly file is translated from SE, the destination system accept the igs file in one level or layer. It cannot identify the different parts from SE assembly.
How it is possible to get the different parts in SE assembly to different levels/layers in destination system.

Thanks
