NG LEL, or safe distance from heater/

NG LEL, or safe distance from heater/

(OP)
Hi Guys, I have an urgent question, how far is an open flame (water bath heater) can be placed from above ground NG piping flange connection, taking into consideration: we have a tight area, and there is no leak except in an abnormal conditions (Class I, Div 2)
And how to document this finding in the way of calculating the LEL of NG in a radius of x', knowing that I have the gas line pressure.

Thanks for your prompt feedback

RE: NG LEL, or safe distance from heater/

I don't think that you can have an open flame (ignition source) in a class 1, div 2 area.

If you don't have the code books to prove this to yourself, you better get them.  DOT is the regulating body we deal with, and have the codes I work by, but there are other codes.  There are reasons people charge you large sums of money for the answers to the questions you ask.
