Updating PDMWorks Vault with Task Sheduler

Updating PDMWorks Vault with Task Sheduler

Updating PDMWorks Vault with Task Sheduler

(OP)
There is an option within SolidWorks Task scheduler to update all files within the PDMWorks vault to the current version (2005 sp1.1) of SolidWorks. Unfortunately, all I ever get is an exception error when I try to select the project to update or select the whole vault. This happens from both win2000 and XP machines. Any clues anyone. Thanks in advanced for any help.

RE: Updating PDMWorks Vault with Task Sheduler

Maybe this option is only on 2005 i have not had PDMWorks before this version.
I also have checked in small assemblies with around 10 or 20 parts in less than a minute, but i am talking about assemblies of around 200 - 300 parts, still not excessively large and these take a long while. The local working directory has only contained the files associated with this assembly and also has no sub directories.

Are you logged in as Admin?
Also, make sure everyone is not using PDMWorks when you update it.

Hi ctopher, yes I'm logged as admin, but so far there has been someone using PDMWorks at the time, although was going to schedule it to actually run overnight. It just crashes. Can't do anything with it. Will try again when no one is actually logged in.

RE: Updating PDMWorks Vault with Task Sheduler

The swboengine.exe is running in the task manager right?

If it's crashing try repairing SW. you can't just repair TS, because it's installed with SW.
