I have small power distion board containing a lot of miniature circuit breakers with 30mA RCD protection.
How can I test 30mA RCD protection of MCB ? by actually earthing or other alternatives ?

RE: MCB with 30mA RCD protection

I would usually use an RCD test set to test RCDs.

Tests should include : 1) No trip test at 0.5In, 2) Trip test at In, 3) Fast Trip test at 5In, 4) DC trip test if applicable, 5) Ramp test to determine trip current, 6) Test button test.

If the RCDs are installed in a switchboard, you should be able to test from the socket outlets fed from the RCDs. Most test sets come with leads to facilitate this.

I would appreciate if you show me test set(catalogue) on internet. This helps me to understand how to test it.

RE: MCB with 30mA RCD protection

The test set that I use can be found here : www.metrel.si/products/measuring_instruments/el_installations/mi2120.html

Note that I have no reason for plugging this test set in favour of any other, it is just the set that my employer purchased and so I am familiar with it.

If you do a web search for similar test sets you will most likely find lots more.
