Increasing human life span via Genetic Engineering

Increasing human life span via Genetic Engineering

(OP)
Hello,

Do you feel people who are under 40 years old will live to see advances in genetic or bioengineering that will allow significant increases in the length of the human life span ?

I am talking about being able to live a productive and enjoyable life, for a significantly longer period of time, not just "existing longer" at the very end of one's life.

Here are some links to organizations that actually feel we can make significant progress in this area. There is even a "competition" to find a "cure" for a aging (see the first link below)

I am interested in hearing the opinions of people who have expertise in this area.

Thanks
John
