insert block?

insert block?

insert block?

(OP)
ive never had a problem with this before but whenever i try to put a drawing into a title block, it just doesnt show up. i posted about the hatch question yestereday and i cant help thinking the two might be connected but i cant seem to figure out why neither hatching or blocks are showing up when im inserting them, when ive never had a problem with this before! please help me!

RE: insert block?

Try insert the block into layer "0" not the layer your title block is on!

RE: insert block?

(OP)
that didnt work unfortunately. instead, i tried copying the title block and pasting it into the drawing, but now copy and paste isnt working unless i copy the same picture.. its so confusing.. could there be something wrong with my autocad? i dont understand what could be causing these problems.

RE: insert block?

Please confirm that all layers are thawed and on.
Also that the block does not exist in the drawing yet.
And that zoom extents does not show the objects.
And that you are in the proper space (model / paper).
And that the object you are inserting exist in model space.
And that your screen colors are suitable.
And that if you are in paper space, there is a viewport.

RE: insert block?

On the original block drawing/s, are the blocks in modelspace or paperspace?. If the blocks are in modelspace and you insert them into a dwg they will appear as you would expect. If the blocks are in paperspace and you try to insert them into another dwg they will not appear, even though the data is shown in the dwg as inserted. If this is the problem, move the blocks into modelspace then
re-insert into the dwg, only after purging the existing blocks that did not show. If you do not purge out you will still insert the non-viewable version.
