Currently operating with a 1960's vintage cyclone boiler and plans are to add OFA ports for nox reduction.  

Does this constitute a major alteration per NFPA 85 and require compliance to the latest standards for burner management controls?  

citation: NFPA 85 1.3.1 This code shall apply to new installations and to major alterations or extensions that are contracted for subsequent to the effective date of this code.
