Jogged cross section

Jogged cross section

Jogged cross section

(OP)
I seem to be having a problem making a jogged cross section. If I can try to explain it this way:

Looking at the front of an object, run a line horizontal, then up at an angle for some distance, then horizontal again.

The cross section always picks up off the angled line instead of the horizontal. I tried selecting the lines in different order, but the same result. Moving the cursor around just drags the cross section view, but still in relation to the angled line.

If the lines are horizontal-vertical-horizontal, it works the way the help menus shows that it should. However, I am trying to recreate an old pencil drawing and many of the sections jog all over the place. Thanks for your help.

RE: Jogged cross section

I just tried it in SW05, no problem re-creating it.
I don't know exactly what your dwg looks like, but in a lot of cases, because of some SW limitations you can't replicate exactly what a hand dwg shows.
What SW version are you using.

This is SW2005. The sections are partial sections. Maybe that is the problem. I haven't tried it on a full section.
