Auto relief in sheet metal

Auto relief in sheet metal

Auto relief in sheet metal

(OP)
I am creating a sheetmetal part in Solidworks 2005. I start with a base/flange piece which looks like a segmented "J". I go to add a edge flange from one of the segments with the flange position set at "material outside". Is there a setting that I need to turn on to get a relief at the corner or am I going about this wrong.
Thanks.

RE: Auto relief in sheet metal

If you are using the "material outside" option, you probably don't need a relief. It's hard to say without seeing the part ... can you post a picture?

Try changing to "material inside" to see if you get a relief.

& all the best.
