A615 Gr60 Rebar -- Low Temp Applications

A615 Gr60 Rebar -- Low Temp Applications

(OP)
Greetings,

A reinforced concrete structure that I'm designing will be subjected to a permanent, sustained temperature of -20F for its entire design life. I plan to use A615 Grade 60 rebar.

To the best of my knowledge and research, there are no special precautions that I need to follow for the design and/or testing of the rebar as a result of this sustained low temperature.

Is anyone aware of any special precautions or requirements that I might have overlooked?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

RE: A615 Gr60 Rebar -- Low Temp Applications

Tankie..it should be fine, just pay attention to the temperature drawdown time after construction (assuming construction at reasonable temps then drawn down), both for the concrete and for the rebar/concrete interaction.
